The Dusseldorf Pavilion

Mixing old industrial building heritage with contemporary environmental friendly renovation, the city of Dusseldorf transformed itself for the better. Under the theme "Business meets Lifestyle: Livable City and Sustainable Development in Düsseldorf", this Case Pavilion introduced its recent sustainable urban development through cultural, social and ecological aspects.

Probably more than any other cities present on the Shanghai World Expo UBPA site, the Dusseldorf city Case Pavilion focused on giving an authentic experience to visitors and has appointed SYMA to recreate a realistic street on its 500sqm exhibition area.

SYMA completed the construction of the colorful two-storey buildings façade from the Rhine bank promenade (from the Burgplatz to the MediaPort) and the implementation of other distinctive key features of the Pavilion: the bridge crossing the entire exhibition stage, the walking path on the second floor of the pavilion and the harbor exhibition center with footage shown though images and videos.

Visitors were very much attracted by the walking path built by SYMA. The lighting and sound effects made the experience of walking on the path a very uniquely enjoyable experience for the visitors to discover the Dusseldorf urban developments and its integrated architecture.
